Dr. Brian Kopec joined Winbak Farm earlier this month.

Dr. Brian Kopec was born and raised in rural Sussex County, New Jersey. He first became interested in veterinary medicine while working as a veterinarian’s assistant in a mixed animal hospital (the Animal Hospital of Sussex County).

In 2007, he completed his undergraduate work at Penn State, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Bioscience and graduated in the top 10 percent of his class.

In 2011, he completed his veterinary studies at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech with a DVM degree. While attending Virginia Tech, Dr. Kopec pursued advanced studies in equine medicine, surgery, and reproduction. During veterinary school he also worked as a student technician in the school’s large animal hospital and was an active member of his student chapter of the AAEP.

Dr. Kopec’s professional interests include ambulatory medicine, reproduction and diagnostic imaging.

In his free time Dr. Kopec enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his friends and family, and with his fiancé, Molly Conca, DVM and their cat “Little Sasquatch.” He particularly likes sailing, kayaking, mountain biking and home-brewing beer.

“I am excited to be a part of the Winbak Farm team and look forward to helping Winbak Farm continue their tradition of excellence,” said Dr. Kopec.
