Meadows adds Saturday cards

Washington, PA — The Meadows Racetrack & Casino will expand its schedule of live racing to five cards each week with the addition of seven consecutive Saturday programs beginning June 18.
Saturday cards will offer a rich selection of stakes culminating in the July 23 eliminations for the $500,000 (est.) Delvin Miller Adios and the Adios final July 30. First post each Saturday is 12:55 p.m. with the exception of the July 23 program, which gets underway at 6:55 p.m.
Among the Saturday stakes (all purses estimated) are:
- June 25 — $200,000 Pennsylvania Sires Stake for 3-year-old filly trotters
- July 2 — $200,000 PASS for 2-year-old colt and gelding pacers
- July 16 — $200,000 PASS for sophomore colt and gelding pacers
- July 23 — Adios eliminations, each with a purse of $50,000; $200,000 PASS for freshman filly pacers
- July 30 — Adios final and $50,000 consolation; $225,000 Quinton Patterson Adioo Volo for 3-year-old filly pacers; $125,000 Gov. David L. Lawrence Arden Downs for freshman colt and gelding pacers
The Meadows staged its first event of the season for 2-year-olds and Tuesday’s race produced the sport’s fastest freshman pacer to date. Feelin Perfect reported home in a sparkling 1:56, winning wire-to-wire from post seven and clicking off the final quarter in :28. Dave Palone piloted the son of Feelin Friskie-Perfect Easter for trainer Guy Malone and owner Diana Lynn Malone.
On Wednesday, June 15, The Meadows is offering a $20,000 guaranteed pool for the Pick-4 spanning races 10-13. First post Wednesday is 6:55 p.m.
