Talespinner banked $41,460 as a 2-year-old in 2010.

Baillargeon said the son of Andover Hall-Fairy Tail began to show symptoms of colitis this past Saturday morning.

“It all started on Saturday,” he commented. “He had bad diarrhea and a mild fever so we had Dr. John Hennessey come to the farm and have a look at him.

“We ran a bunch of jugs through him and that seemed to help but this morning it got worse. We took him to the University of Guelph and he passed around noon today.”

Last season, Talespinner was a highly regarded 2-year-old, before making costly breaks in eliminations of the William Wellwood Memorial and Breeders Crown.

Heading into this season, Talespinner made three failed qualifying attempts before charting a clean line this past Thursday at Mohawk.

Richard Berthiaume of Pointe-Aux-Trembles, Quebec, owns the three-time winner who earned $41,460 last season.
