Saratoga Springs, NY — Lorenzo Dream continued his local dominance on Monday afternoon (May 30) in the Battle of Saratoga #6 Trotting Series final.

The 4-year-old son of Taurus Dream has won every single time he has set hoof on the Saratoga oval, moving his record to eight-for-eight on the Memorial Day matinee card for owner Vince Laurenzo of Clifton Park, N.Y.

Lorenzo Dream lowered his lifetime mark to 1:54.4 on Monday.

Lorenzo Dream was the overwhelming 1-5 favorite as he drew post one for the $37,400 series final after sweeping the series’ three legs and doing so with ease.

Driver Billy Dobson sat patiently in the pocket with the big favorite on Monday as Sarkozy (Stephane Bouchard) carved out the fractions. Just past the five-eighths pole, Dobson pulled the right line and the sensational trotter did the rest, highstepping away in the stretch to score by almost three lengths.

The win time of 1:54.4 serves as a lifetime mark for Lorenzo Dream and is the fastest trotting time of the season at Saratoga Casino and Raceway by nearly a full second. Special Eddie (Dan Cappello, Jr.) closed in the stretch to finish second while Sarkozy earned the show spot.

Lorenzo Dream will likely move towards the Open Trot to look to extend his local win streak in the coming weeks.

Live racing resumes on Wednesday night (June 1) at Saratoga with a first post time of 7:05 p.m.
