New series makes big splash at Meadowlands

East Rutherford, NJ — Meadowlands Racetrack has received a strong response to its new Summer Survivor Series for 3-year-old pacers, which begins Thursday, June 2.
A total of 63 horses were entered in the four-week series for non-winners of two pari-mutuel races or $25,000 lifetime. The Summer Survivor consists of two preliminary brackets and a semi-final round that will narrow the competition for an estimated $100,000 final on July 2.
“We are very pleased with the response to this series,” said Meadowlands Racing Secretary Peter Koch. “The horsemen have supported the new format in a very big way.”
