Freehold, NJ — Eric Abbatiello captured lifetime win number 1,000 at Freehold Raceway on Thursday (May 19).

Eric Abbatiello scored career win number 1,000 on Thursday at Freehold Raceway.

In the third race on the card, he pulled away from the field by guiding Talented Jon to reach the milestone.

Abbatiello, who began his career in 1997, enjoyed his best years in 2007 with 167 wins and 2008 for money won with $1,673,451.

Eric’s father, Carmine, was inducted into the Harness Racing Hall of Fame in 1985. He recorded more than $50 million in career earnings and 7,000 career wins.
