Bid in this special Hall of Fame fundraiser

from the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame

Columbus, OH — Bid to be the owner of this beautiful immaculate vehicle donated by Mrs. Dorothy Haughton and used by her and her husband, Hall of Fame trainer/driver Bill Haughton, as well as Dunbar Bostwick, Hall of Fame owner, trainer and amateur driver. Proceeds are earmarked for The Harness Racing Museum’s Collections’ Restoration Fund.

This Surrey (or Four Passenger Buckboard) is from H. B. Kelly of Margarettville, N.Y. (circa 1900) and was restored by Raymond Homestead Coach Shop, Jeffersonville, Vt. Its natural wood finish with a thin single (pin) stripe of red, Sarven wheels with solid rubber tires, elliptic front end springs with Dennett rear spring, spindle seats, and beige tufted Bedford Cord upholstery, wooden curved dashboard, foot brake, and Bradley couplings, together with its prestigious provenance, makes this a one-of-a-kind dream come true for the pleasure-driving aficionado and harness racing history buff.

The package comes complete with pole and harness for a warmblood team consisting of a matching leather driving set with blind bridles, snaffle bits, and lines.

An additional opportunity exists: A $100 grab bag of miscellaneous, clean, used leather harness, bridle for riding a draft horse, western wooden stirrups, set of pleasure driving harness (in Haughton colors) for warmblood, two sets of leather lines for Standardbred harness, and new blue nylon martingale. (Vehicle high bidder has first refusal.)

Call the Harness Racing Museum at 845.294.6330 for additional information and with your bid by Friday, July 1. The winning bid will be announced on Hall of Fame Day, Sunday, July 3.
