Western Fair introduces Ontario Drivers Championship contest

from Western Fair Media Relations

London, ON — Western Fair Raceway has introduced a contest on their Facebook page which allows fans to select which driver they think will win the upcoming Ontario Driving Championship on Friday, March 11, at the London, Ontario racetrack.

The track’s Facebook page features photos of all eight drivers taking part in the event: Simon Allard, Gord Brown, Scott Coulter, Trevor Henry, Jody Jamieson, John MacDonald, Doug McNair and Scott Zeron. To select the driver you think will win simply click on their photo and select ‘like.’

Fans may only select one driver to be eligible for one of three prize packs compliments of Western Fair and SC.

At the conclusion of the Drivers Championship, every fan who selected the correct driver will be entered into the draw for a 2010 Dodge Challenger SXT which will be drawn on May 17 as part of the track’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

Additionally, from all of the entrants who selected the winning driver three names will be drawn to receive the winning prize packs.

The contest is now open and will run until 6 p.m. on March 11 and may be accessed through this link.

The top two drivers from the competition will move on to compete in the National Drivers Challenge in PEI in May. The winner of that event will represent Canada at the World Driving Championships in the US this summer.

Changes to Western Fair’s Win 4

Western Fair Raceway has announced a new incentive to play their Late Win 4 wager on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday cards.

That wager will now offer a guaranteed ‘gross’ pool of C$4,000. This complements the 15 percent takeout which was instituted on the Win 4 wagers last November.

“We’ve been happy with the growth in our Win 4 pools since we introduced the 15 percent takeout last fall and we’re excited about this new initiative,” said Western Fair’s Racing and Gaming Manager Ian Fleming. “We monitor all of our wagering pools closely and will be looking for more opportunities down the road to further enhance growth.”

Fans can stop by the Western Fair website at www.westernfair.com and get an early start to handicapping Monday’s card by downloading the free Monday race program when it becomes available.
