Tetrick wins nine on Sunday at Dover

Dover, DE — Tim Tetrick broke the longest existing record at Dover Downs on Sunday (Feb. 27) by winning nine of the 12 races in which he drove on a 15-race program. The previous record of eight wins on one card was set in 1998 and then equaled in 1999 by then leading driver Luc Ouellette.

Tetrick, who holds the all-time one-season record of 1,189 wins in 2007, was the Dover Downs leader that year with 416 winning drives.

The 29-year-old Tetrick began his memorable night by driving Enee Weene And Me to a 1:53.2 victory in the second race. Lenny K followed in the fifth with a 1:53.1 score. Hope Lane Hanover notched a 1:54.2 victory in the seventh with Ty’s A Big Star winning in 1:53.2 in the eighth.

Starting with race 11, Tetrick dominated the rest of the Dover Downs card, scoring with Trouble Hanover (1:54.2), then Ivana B Me Hanover (1:55.1) in the 12th, Intrepid Hall (1:56.4) in the 13th, Shakearosa (1:53.2) in the 14th race and to conclude the evening, Beau Shiraz N (1:54.3) in race 15.

Cory Callahan, the current track dash win leader, won three of the other races including Crazy Dream, a 10-1 winner of the $17,000 featured pace, with Tetrick finishing second, beaten a head, in 1:53.1.
