Columbus, OH — An Illinois State Senator has revived a bill to bring slot machines to the state’s racetracks and permit five new casinos to be built.
According to a story in the Thoroughbred Times, State Senator Terry Link (D-Lake Bluff) is hoping to speed his new bill out of committee to the Senate floor and find a new sponsor in the Illinois House.
A similar bill passed the Senate this past December and was approved by the House Executive Committee in early January, but it died when Rep. Lou Lang (D-Skokie), the House sponsor, decided not to call it for a vote on the final night of the veto session.
