East Rutherford, NJ — In an effort to attract younger fans to the sport of harness racing, Meadowlands TV host and racing analyst Darin Zoccali is inviting everyone under the age of 40 to attend the racing at the Meadowlands on Friday, Feb. 18.

Zoccali, 27, has created an “event” using his Facebook account, in which he has invited all of his “friends” to come to the racetrack for a youth movement. Zoccali is hopeful that this could be the start of opportunities to peak interest in racing for a younger age group. Horse racing as a sport in general has become an industry predominantly supported by an older age group.

Being one of the youngest announcers and analysts in the industry, and the subject of a recent Hoof Beats article, Zoccali is looking to begin a youth movement somewhere, and figures utilizing the largest social network on the internet is the place to start.
