Nouvelle Aventure, a 10-year-old French broodmare in foal to the French champion sire Coktail Jet, sold for $235,000 at The Prix d’Amerique Sale in Paris on Thursday night (Jan. 27).

That was by far the highest price at the sale.

Nouvelle Aventure was one of the best fillies in her crop. She took a mark of 1:57 and earned more than $350,000.

She was bought by the Swedish trainer Lutfi Kolgjini, who also bought another mare, Noa Noa, in foal to first season sire Sam Bourbon for $110,000. Noa Noa, who’s unraced, is a half sister to some of the leading trotting sires in France — Goetmals Wood, Extreme Dream and Bon Conseil.

Overall prices have been up in Paris. Over two days 120 trotters have been sold and the average price is up by 11 percent.

The sale continues tonight with racehorses in the ring.
