Dover, DE — High Joltage won his second straight and Elijah Hanover his first of the meet in a $14,000 4&5-Year-Old pace double-feature on Thursday, Jan. 27 at Dover Downs.

High Joltage sped to a 1:54.4 win in the first of two co-features.

High Joltage, driven by Ben Stafford Jr, sped to a 1:54.4 victory in the first of the co-features. The sophomore altered son of Village Jot-Mattdonna is owned by Ben Stafford and Philadelphia Flyers twice Stanley Cup champion Rick MacLeish. Bergerac (Ron Pierce) was second with Caviart Tyler (Jon Roberts) third.

In the second $14,000 affair for young pacers Chris White’s Elijah Hanover got up for Matt Kakaley in 1:55.3. A Western Hanover-Early Start gelding, the Craig McInnis trainee was followed by Lucky Times (Corey Callahan) with Smoke Em Up (Art Stafford Jr.) the show horse.

Cal Expo
Claiming and conditioned distaffers, racing for a purse of $3,400, were featured at Cal Expo on Thursday night, in which Don’t Tempt Me won for the 28th time in her career. Surging to the wire, the Dennis Giles and Keith Ballard owned mare won ($9.20) by a nose for driver Rich Wojcio in 1:56. Silver Bloom finished in second and Biggest Big Bertha finished another three-quarters of a length farther back in third.
