Jeremy’s Successor wins Dover feature

Dover, DE — Jeremy’s Successor held off a late charge from Harlingen Hanover and Solano to win the $35,000 Preferred Handicap Pace on Monday at Dover Downs. Meet leading driver Corey Callahan drove five winners.

Jeremy’s Successor was a 1:51.2 winner in the Dover feature.

Sean Bier took Jeremy’s Successor into the lead at the start and set all the winning fractions, speeding home in :28.1 to hold off a trio of closers, Harlingen Hanover (Roger Plante), Solano (Ron Pierce) and Three Of Spades (Jon Roberts) at the finish line in 1:51.2 to win the week’s top pacing event.

Andrea Hill owns the Crissy Crissman-trained Mach Three-Gentle Audrey gelding, now a winner of $563,715 lifetime.

Corey Callahan rang up his third of five winners on the card, driving Joe Colosi’s Funny Deacon to a 1:51.4 victory in the $26,000 Open Pace. Transcending (Matt Kakaley) closed to within a neck of the winner for second. Early leader Southwind Lynx (Montrell Teague) was the show horse.

The Meadows
Trailing by eight lengths at the half, Go Go Raider launched his customary late rally that erased the deficit and carried him to victory in Monday’s $22,500 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows. Go Go Raider was sitting seventh when Eric Ledford sent him on his wide journey that took him to fourth at the top of the stretch. The 6-year-old Keystone Raider-Costly Toy gelding persevered through the lane, scoring in 1:52.2. Handsome Prince, the 4-5 favorite, weaved his way through late traffic to finish second, 1-1/4 lengths back, with Report For Duty N third. Kris Rickert trains Go Go Raider, who extended his career bankroll to $225,208, for Dale Wareham and Mark Jakubik. Tony Hall and Dave Palone each drove four winners while Aaron Merriman enjoyed a three-bagger on the 15-race card. Hall’s haul left him with 2,999 career victories.
