East Rutherford, NJ — The 81-date main harness meet at Meadowlands Racetrack will run through Saturday, August 20, with a month long break in the schedule during April.

Live racing will he held Thursday-Saturday evenings through March 26, along with a special holiday matinee on Presidents’ Day, Monday, February 21. The track will be dark during the month of April.

Due to this change, the Su Mac Lad, Jersey Girls, Art Unger and Hiram Woodruff series will not be held in 2011. The Matt’s Scooter will be rescheduled to May as a $20,000 elimination on May 7 and $100,000 (est.) final on May 14.

The track will re-open Saturday, May 7, with live racing Thursday-Saturday nights through Hambletonian Day, Saturday, August 6. A special matinee card will be raced on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8. The $1 million Meadowlands Pace on July 16 and $1.5 million Hambletonian on August 6 are once again the cornerstones of the summer stakes meet. Weekend-only cards will be raced the two weeks after the Hambletonian, August 12-13 and August 19-20.

Post times are 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 1:10 p.m. for holiday matinees.
