Dover, DE — Dover Downs owners, trainers, drivers and friends of racing, pitched in to help the needy and our men and women in the military this Christmas.

Dover Downs horsemen with Christmas gifts for the needy.

Trainer Janet Davis again headed a Delaware Horsemen and Horsewomen’s Holiday campaign which raised approximately $9,500.

The Delaware Standardbred Owners Association 2010 Holiday project donated money to its Horsemen’s Welfare Trust Fund for distribution.

The money goes to many needy families in the Dover area. It purchases toys for children and turkeys for needy families. Food and gifts are directed to local women’s and men’s shelters, and phone cards are destined for our troops overseas.
