Giddy Up Lucky wins 10th straight

Dover, DE — Giddy Up Lucky remained unbeaten all Fall season long in winning his 10th race in a row in 1:49.1 in the $35,000 Preferred pace on a perfect Monday for racing, Nov. 22 at Dover Downs.

Starting from outside posts has not been a problem for Giddy Up Lucky. The 5-year-old altered son of Camluck-Sweet Susy quickly disposed of seven challengers when Eric Goodell drove the Josh Green trainee to the front in :26.3 and never looked back with another :26.3 final panel to score his first sub-1:50 victory, and the first at the track in the current meet. Baron Racing Stable and David Rovine own the 13-time winner in 2010. Riggins raced second from the start for Ron Pierce while Mainland Key N closed for third driven by Ross Wolfenden.

Montrell Teague took Gary and Barbara Iles homebred Barber Pole right to the front and continued on to win the $32,500 Delaware Special with a 1:50.4 performance. George Teague conditioned the Badlands Hanover-Pocket Comb 4-year-old to his eighth win of the year and upped his earnings this season to $118,090. Astounding Hanover finished second for Tim Tetrick. Solano and Corley Callahan closed for third money.

In only his second start since a short vacation in late summer, Three Of Spades made it two consecutive wins in a come from behind 1:51.2 triumph in the $27,000 Open pace. Jon Roberts drove the 7-year-old gelding by Cam’s Card Shark-Triple Flip to victory. TG’s Valuable Art (Ron Pierce) came on for second in front of That’s Justice (Vince Copeland)

Next Sunday, the $181,913 Matron Stakes final is the headline event.
