Columbus, OH — Harold “Brownie” Brown died Nov. 15, 2010, in Inverness, Fla., after a lingering illness.

A great favorite among horsemen on the Chicago circuit from the late 1960s until his retirement a few years ago, he was best known for training the very successful Donner Brothers Stable out of Milwaukee from 1970 to 1980 and his association with his good friend Bob Farrington from 1963 to 1970.

After he retired from active training, Mr. Brown worked as a racing official on the Illinois Circuit at Sportsman’s Park and Maywood Park.

Among his survivors is his equally popular wife, Sweetpea.

Mr. Brown was cremated and his ashes will be interred at a military cemetery in central Florida.
