Lexington, KY — Impressive Kemp, whose seven victories this year include the $500,000 Breeders Crown final for 3-year-old filly trotters, has been purchased by Steve and Cindy Stewart of Hunterton Farm, John Schmucker and Kemppi Stables, who will take control of the daughter of Credit Winner following the completion of her 2010 racing season.

Breeders Crown champion Impressive Kemp will be bred to Muscles Yankee.

Impressive Kemp is scheduled to race possibly two more times this year as she will start Sunday (Nov. 7) in an elimination for the Matron Stakes at Dover Downs, with the final scheduled for Nov. 14. Impressive Kemp will then be retired as a broodmare and bred to Muscles Yankee.

A winner in eight of 21 career starts, Impressive Kemp has earnings of $492,428 for owner Jean Cloutier. Included among her other career victories are divisions of the Bluegrass Stakes as both a 2- and 3-year-old, with her latter effort this year being a career-best 1:54.3. Her other stakes victories in 2010 include a Simpson Memorial division and a New York Sire Stakes leg.

Impressive Kemp is out of the Garland Lobell mare Emilie Cas El, a full sister to trotting standouts Conway Hall, Angus Hall and Andover Hall. A winner of 19 of 23 starts and $245,199 in her two years of racing in 1994-95, Emilie Cas El was purchased in 2004 by a group that included the Stewarts, who are co-breeders of Impressive Kemp.

“We don’t own any of Emilie Cas El’s daughters, so we are very excited to be able to re-purchase the filly for broodmare purposes,” said Stewart. “Emilie has a colt by Deweycheatumnhowe to sell next year, and you never know if she is going to have any more fillies; she could run the table and have only colts so you wouldn’t have any of the family left. So we’re thrilled to be able to buy Impressive Kemp back as a broodmare.”
