Toronto, ON — The Ontario Racing Commission has introduced framework to support live horse racing in Ontario.

A considerable amount of time and effort was undertaken by the ORC Administration. The current issue of the ORC Newsletter features an overview of the highlights of the framework. In general terms, the framework includes key features to support and sustain live racing in Ontario into the future, including:

• Classification of racing based on a classification system of racetracks and horse supply;
• Standardization of race conditions and purse management;
• and Greater accountability and economic oversight in the industry
