Sophomore fillies ready for prime time in Breeders Crown

Wilkes-Barre, PA — While most of the attention is given to the 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers Rock N Roll Heaven and One More Laugh, the 3-year-old filly pacers will be “putting on a show” of their own on Saturday night (Oct. 9) in the Breeders Crown at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.

The two elimination races last Saturday saw Put On A Show and Cannae Cammie in the winner’s circle. Put On A Show, trained by Chris Ryder and driven by Tim Tetrick, won in a sizzling 1:50.2 while Cannae Cammie, trained by Paul Reid and driven by Jim Morrill, Jr., won in 1:51.

Put On A Show, leaving from the three post, will be looking for five straight wins and has won 11 of 13 starts in 2010 with earnings of more than $839,000. Cannae Cammie, who has the No. 1 post, will be seeking her sixth straight victory in the $500,000 Breeders Crown finale. Cannae Cammie has won seven of 11 starts this season.

“My mare has been doing super,” said Ryder of his prized 3-year-old filly pacer. “She’s had a great year and got around the five-eighths track super. Timmy (Tetrick) was really happy with her.”

Tetrick said Put On A Show was well in hand in her Breeders Crown elimination race.

Reid was impressed with Cannae Cammie. He noted that driver Morrill gets along good with the horse and that both handled the track real well.

Morrill is very familiar with the racing surface at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs since he’s a regular and second leading driver behind George Napolitano, Jr.
