Glide Power nipped Bar Slide by a neck in 1:56.2.

Bar Slide, starting from post three, took the lead off the first turn as Glide Power trotted in second place through fractions of :27.4, :57.4 and 1:27.1. With Brian Sears driving, Glide Power closed in the stretch to get up to win by a neck over Bar Slide and driver David Miller. Finishing third was Jettalady (Muscles Yankee), owned by the Diamond Ridge Farm and trained by Jimmy Takter.

It was the fourth victory in 10 starts this year for Glide Power, a Yankee Glide filly trained by Jan Johnson. She has also had three seconds and two third-place finishes this year. Glide Power’s earnings rose to $345,300 this year and $370,391 in her career with the $50,000 winner’s share of the purse for the Arden Homestead Stable and Diamond Creek Farm.

Bar Slide, also sired by Yankee Glide, had beaten Glide Power in one of the NJSS Premier Division preliminary heats when she had the rail position and Glide Power started from post seven. Bar Slide won the $750,000 Hambletonian Oaks at the Meadowlands in August for trainer Joe Holloway and owners Fredericka Caldwell and Bluestone Farms.
