OSS Gold Elimination at Grand River cancelled

by Karen Hauver, OSS Administration Coordinator

Toronto, ON — Seven 3-year-old filly pacers were entered this morning for the Ontario Sire Stakes Gold Elimination, scheduled to be contested on Monday, Sept. 20, at Grand River Raceway.

The OSS rules state that if there are not more horses entered in the elimination than can compete in the final, the elimination will be cancelled and all horses will be considered declared directly into the final to be held the following week.

Therefore, the Gold Elimination for 3-year-old filly pacers, scheduled for Sept. 20 at Grand River Raceway is cancelled. The C$40,000 purse for the Gold Elimination will be added to the regular purse for the final, making a total Gold Final purse for this event of C$170,000.

The Gold Final will be held on Monday, Sept. 27, as scheduled and the post positions will be drawn on Monday, Sept. 20, when the final would normally have been drawn.

According to OSS rules concerning the points for the Super Final, the 100 points from the cancelled elimination will be distributed equally between the seven horses that entered the event.

The field for the final, in alphabetical order, is: Bay Girl, F B’s Terror, Ice Ice Baby, Misty Moonstone, Putnam MacKenzie, Tiz To Dream and Windsong Grand Ave.
