Campbellville, ON — This Saturday night (Sept. 18) Mohawk Racetrack will offer one of its richest race cards of the year. The C$1 million Canadian Trotting Classic will be featured along with the C$500,000 William Wellwood Memorial, C$466,000 Peaceful Way Stakes and a lone elimination of the Milton Stakes for the continent’s best older pacing mares.

Crys Dream has won four of five lifetime starts heading into the Peaceful Way on Saturday.

Crys Dream is one filly that will headline the Peaceful Way Stakes for 2-year-old trotting fillies. The daughter of Taurus Dream-Crysta’s Image won her elimination last week in 1:56.4 and will be looking for her biggest payday of her young career.

Earlier this year the 2-year-old miss won the C$50,000 In Free Trotting Series final for trainer Henrik Hollsten and owner Reve Avec Moi Dreamwithme. A winner of four of five career starts, Crys Dream has earned just shy of $100,000 in freshman earnings.

Driver Luc Oullette has driven the freshman trotter in just two appearances but is certainly confident his charge can find the winner’s circle again this Saturday.

“I like our chances,” Ouellette told WEG’s media department. “She had gone very well the week before, and again this week. She’s a very nice horse, good size horse, her mannerisms are very good on the track and she’s tough. I can’t say enough good things about her. I would say that right at this point she does everything I have asked her to do so easily.”

Crys Dream will leave from post four with an approximate post time scheduled for 8:33 p.m.

Racing fans are also reminded that this Saturday is customer appreciation night on behalf of Mohawk Racetrack. The first 2,000 fans will receive a complimentary slice of pizza and beverage.

Mohawk will offer a guaranteed pool of C$50,000 on Saturday’s early Pick-4 as part of the festivities and fans who can’t make it to the track can watch live coverage of the C$1 million Canadian Trotting Classic and C$500,000 William Wellwood Memorial during a two-hour special from 9-11 p.m. on The Score.
