Quillen draw complete at Harrington

Harrington, DE — The draw for eliminations for the fourth annual Bobby Quillen Memorial for older pacers was completed Wednesday, with such horses as returning champion Won The West and the sport’s fastest pacer Hypnotic Blue Chip in the entry box among 15 of the sport’s best older pacers.

Two $30,000 divisions will be contested on Monday, September 13, with the top four finishers from each division returning for a $354,000 final on September 20.

A more detailed story on the Quillen will be available Thursday after scratch time.

Nordic Venture back to the winner’s circle

Nordic Venture was a 1:57.2 winner in the $20,000 Open Trot.

Amy and Steward Oldford’s Nordic Venture ($6.40, Vince Copeland) scored his sixth win of the season on Wednesday (Sept. 8) with a 1:57.2 win in the $20,000 Open Trot at Harrington Raceway.

In eight career starts at Harrington, the 5-year-old Keystone Nordic gelding has four wins and four seconds for trainer Copeland, who also handles the driving duties.

Nordic Venture was a wire-to-wire winner over Spunky Vic and King Gus.

Driver Victor Kirby posted three winners on the program.
