Tammibest wins feature at Pocono Downs

Wilkes-Barre, PA — Tammibest turned the tables on Princess Character in the Wednesday night feature race at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.

After finishing second in last week’s race to Princess Character, Tammibest (Jim Morrill, Jr.) flew up the Pocono Pike to win the $20,000-$25,000 claiming handicap pace for fillies and mares. Tammibest bested Princess Character (Joe Pavia, Jr.) by a length with third place going to My Fanny (Eric Goodell). Time of the mile was 1:53.1.

Nicholas Surick trains Tammibest, a winner for the fourth time in 19 starts in 2010.

Ball McCartney N (Andrew McCarthy) overcame the nine hole in a $15,000 claiming pace for horses, colts and geldings. McCarthy went first over down the backside and outlasted another longshot, Tyrex Jimmy, with third place going to Scoozi (Kevin Sizer).
This was the second win in a row for Ball McCartney N, trained by Tabitha Teresczuk. Time of the mile over the sloppy track was 1:54.
