Impressive Char was a 1:55 winner in the Sunday feature at Saratoga.

For the second consecutive week, driver Chris Long moved the favorite Impressive Char to the front end as they overcame post seven to make the lead. Previous to last week’s feature, Impressive Char had hit the board in six consecutive races while never making the lead. While on the engine, the Kevin Johnson trainee would not be denied, securing her second win of the 2010 campaign with a 1:55 triumph.

On Sunday, it was back to the front end and back to the winner’s circle for Impressive Char who was indeed impressive. Gro (Dan Cappello, Jr.) was the runner-up while Southview Spirit (Jack Baggitt, Jr.) earned the show spot.

The 5-year-old mare hit her prime last year in a season in which she earned over $90,000, setting her mark of 1:54 at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway. She has continued that success right into this year.

Live racing resumes next weekend at Saratoga on Friday night with a 7:05 p.m. first post on an evening that will be highlighted by the first leg of the Battle of Saratoga Trotting Series.
