Columbus, OH — Thursday, March 25, is the last day to sign up for the Racing Officials Seminar to be held at Pocono Downs on Friday, April 16.

This one day seminar will cover all aspects of officiating, from conducting the draw to the submission of race results. Other topics covered will be the USTA rule book and promotions for the upcoming 2010 fair season.

The seminar is open to anyone who is interested; participants so far range from Judges to those who have never held a racing official’s license.

A detailed agenda will be sent to attendees the first week in April. Registration for the seminar will start at 10:30 a.m., with classroom sessions at 11 a.m.; lunch will be provided.

The group will also meet with Race Secretary Saul Needle and other Pocono racing officials in the race office and paddock. Post time is at 6:30 p.m.

It is strongly suggested that all racing officials, for both the pari-mutuel tracks and fairs, attend one of the various educational seminars put on by the USTA throughout the year to keep their licensing current.
