Southwind Farms welcomes Deweycheatumnhowe foal

Columbus, OH — Southwind Farms is reporting the arrival of a foal by Deweycheatumnhowe, out of the Conway Hall mare Southwind Martini.

Southwind Martini’s first foal is a colt by Deweycheatumnhowe.

The colt is Southwind Martini’s first foal. The 5-year-old banked $112,450 in her two years on the track and took her mark of 3,1:59.1h at Saratoga in a New York Sire Stakes race in 2008. Southwind Martini was the fourth foal of Miss Goal 3,1:55.2 ($190,777) and is a half sister to Southwind Maywood 2,1:57.1 ($297,251).

Deweycheatumnhowe, the 2008 Trotter of the Year, won 22 of his 25 career starts, with earnings of $3,155,178. The two-time Dan Patch Award winner bred 143 mares in his first year of stud duty at Walnut Hall Ltd. in Lexington, Kentucky.

It was recently announced that he would relocate to Westwind Farm in Strathroy, Ontario, where he will stand beginning with the 2010 breeding season.
