Toronto, ON — Cane Ridge and Pinner were both repeat winners in the second leg of the Snowshoe Pacing Series for 3 and 4-year-olds on Friday night (Jan. 8) at Woodbine Racetrack while Lake Shark captured the other division.

Mark MacDonald guided two winners in the second leg, including Pinner in his C$20,000 contest. The 4-year-old gelded son of Mach Three – Dexter Doll came first-over in the final half and scored a hard-fought decision in 1:55.2 by nose over Shiftin Geartogear and Specialized Motion.

Pinner is now perfect in three starts since moving into the care of Zaim Cunmulaj for owner E C S Racing Llc. of Rockford, Michigan.

MacDonald also guided Lake Shark to a gutsy first-over tally in the final division. The 3-year-old son of Four Starzzz Shark – Life On The Rideau scored by 1-1/4 lengths over Bruisers Brother and Sparky Mark.

Lake Shark returned $6.10 in notching his third career win for trainer Casie Coleman and owners Eric Kints and Robert Hamather of Ontario.

Cane Ride took the opening split for driver Rick Zeron in 1:55.2. The 4-year-old gelded son of Cambest – Camus used front-end tactics to fend off Giddy Up Delight by a neck with Morguns Romeo rounding out the top three.

Cane Ridge, who won two of four starts last season, is now perfect in two tries this year for trainer Travis Umphrey and owners Joe Tinelli and Timothy Kane of Alberta. The gelding delivered as the race favorite, returning $4.20 for the win.

The C$60,000 Snowshoe Series final will go postward next Friday night from Woodbine.
