$85,000 estimated Super High-5 pool at Cal-Expo

Sacramento, CA — With no winning tickets once again in Sunday night’s (November 22) Super High 5, there is a healthy carryover at Cal-Expo of $35,448 going into Friday night’s (November 27) Super High 5. The 50-cent minimum wager is conducted on the eighth race. Post time for the eighth race is scheduled for 8:50 p.m. (PST).

Director of Racing Dave Elliott is optimistic there will be plenty of interest.

“We are hopeful the pool reaches the six-figure level,” he said. “Our racing office has put together a very contentious race.”

Racing Secretary Fred Kuebler and his assistant Joe Nefsky came up with a full field of 12 pacing fillies and mares to fill the important eighth race spot.

“We wanted a big field and a race that didn’t have a lot of toss-outs when it came to contenders,” explained Kuebler.

The Super High 5 has gone unhit on the last three programs, including last Sunday’s card that featured a carryover of just over $15,000. Nobody was able to isolate the winning combination of Magicality (5-1), Top Prize (9-2), Irish Mint (16-1), Suzette Seelster (6-1) and Shalana (55-1), leading to Friday’s large jackpot.
