Equine Oktoberfest at SRF

from the Standardbred Retirement Foundation

Hamilton, NJ — The Standardbred Retirement Foundation will host its first Equine Oktoberfest on Sunday, October 25, at their farm in Hamilton, N.J.

From 1-5 p.m. there will be plenty to enjoy and so much to learn. Dr. Patricia Hogan will enlighten us with equine medicine; an equine nutritionist will shed some light on the variety of feeds; and bring your hoof questions for our blacksmith to help you. Then enjoy horse demonstrations, face and pumpkin painting, a hay ride, an equine art display, autumn pies, wine tasting, numerous vendors for holiday shopping and more.

You may want to tag your trailer along as it will be very easy to fall in love with some fuzzy noses. There will be plenty of horses, and a few dogs, too, who will want to go home with you at the end of the day. Interested horse adopters will need to be pre-approved to bring home a new friend. Simply go to the Web site and fill out an application.

SRF’s farm is at the intersection of Old York Road and Broad St. in Hamilton, just a few miles from Route 130, at 108F Old York Rd., and three miles west of Allentown, N.J. For more information, please call 609.324.1524, visit www.Adopthorse.org, or e-mail us at events@srfmail.com. The indoor arena makes our day a rain or shine event.
