Big Apple Deli moves to Morrisville

Morrisville, NY — The royally bred Big Apple Deli will be taking up residence in the stallion barn at Morrisville College starting with the 2010 breeding season.

As a 2-year-old Big Apple Deli made six starts, winning three, all New York Sire Stakes events including his final rookie outing at Tioga, which he won by more than 13 lengths.

At three he competed with the elite of his division, winning several NYSS tests. He finished second by less than a length in an elimination of the Yonkers Trot and a very close third in the final. In a Hambletonian elimination he finished third behind the great Deweycheatumnhowe.

In total he made 23 career starts with nine wins and $312,000 in earnings. His record was 1:55.3 but he was consistently timed in 1:54 or better during his sophomore season.

Big Apple Deli, a son of Conway Hall, hails from the Super Pleasure mare Windswept Pleasure, a sister to several top notch trotters including B Cor Pete ($893,000), B Cor Timgo ($666,000), Clarice Marie ($313,000), Yorktown Gunner ($286,000), and the dams of millionaire Banker Hall, Chip Dot Com ($558,000), Broadway Hall ($583,000), Wide Angle Hanover ($522,000), Celebrity Sweedie ($431,000) and Tom Cango ($375,000).

Big Apple Deli will stand for an introductory fee of $2,000.
