Snoopmattydog repeats in Tioga Open Pace

Nichols, NY — Snoopmattydog and Sean Mcaleese repeated in the $14,000 Open Handicap Pace on Sunday afternoon at Tioga Downs.

Snoopmattydog prevailed in 1:53.4 in the Open Handicap Pace.

The duo settled in fifth as the field cut through quick fractions of :26.4 and :54.4 with Armbro Cougar (Billy Dobson) leaving I’m In Luck (Howard Parker) hung out through the mile. As the field passed the three-quarter mark of the race in 1:23 the backfield was in motion and they were attacking from everywhere. At the wire it was Snoopmattydog prevailing by a nose in 1:53.4 over I’m In Luck, who despite being parked out the entire mile hung on for second.

It was the fourth win in 19 seasonal starts for Snoopmattydog who is trained by Janine Waldron for The Wiz Kids Stable LLC. The mile equaled the seasonal mark established earlier this year at Tioga Downs for Snoopmattydog.

Despite winning the Open Handicap Pace last weekend the bettors let Snoopmattydog go off at 12– 1 and he returned $27.80 for a $2 win bet. I’m In Luck was second, while Our First Falcon N (Ron Cushing) rounded out the 2-5-6 trifecta that returned $97.12 for a $.50 wager.

Jimmy Marohn, Jr., Corey Braden, and Billy Dobson each posted driving doubles on the afternoon’s 11-race card.
