Northfield, OH — Matt Kakaley posted his second seven-win Monday in three weeks at Northfield on July 13, taking six straight from races four through nine, and then winning the nightcap with Bob Eidens’ Class Worker ($4.40).

Class Worker was one of four favorites the 21-year-old pilot scored with. The other chalkers were Wes Hershberger’s Purpose To Chance ($3.60), Bill Varney’s Pembroke Heat Wave ($4.60) and Umholtz Racing, Kennedy Sports and Ngaire Umholtz’s Devil’s Deal ($5.60), a 2-year-old making his career debut.

Kakaley piloted second choices Cruisin Samantha ($4.80) and Covered Connection ($5.60) to victories for Walter White and Brent Hillabrand, respectively.

Kakaley also pleased the longshot players when Nancy Amos’ Come Along Fred scored at nearly 11-1, yielding $23.80 to his backers in the fifth race.

The 5-year-old Lindy Lane gelding Kyle Doodles had the grandstand buzzing when he took a $2,400 conditioned trot in 1:56.3. Kyle Doodles hit the half in :56.4 and the three-qaurters in 1:25.3, the second fastest call ever by a trotter at the Flying Turns, before cruising under the wire with a :31 final quarter in which driver Robin Miller shut the trotter down at the top of the stretch.

Rosy Weaver trains Kyle Doodles, who was unraced at two and three, for Bert Beachy’s Holmes Stock Farm. He has posted a career summary of 8-4-0-1, $5,988.
