Word is, there is a new kid on the auction block. There has been a lot happening in the State of Pennsylvania in the last couple of years involving horse racing. Slots, money, new track, more money, new stallions, more money. Everything positive. Everything full speed ahead. Now there is even more good news!

There is a new yearling sale that will debut this fall in Pennsylvania. Sam Beegle, Earl Beal, and Tom Davis have teamed up to bring horsemen a new sales venue, The Breeders Select Sales Company.

The inaugural edition will be held on Monday, Oct. 12, at Pocono Downs in their new state of the art paddock. The sale will consist of yearlings from all over the East. Yearlings have already been consigned with Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Virginia eligibility. Consignors already include Walnridge Farm of PA, Nandi Farm, Winbak Farm, Vieux Carre Farm, Fox Den Farm and many more.

“We have been looking for the right place and the correct time to launch this sale so as to insure its complete success. We feel now is the absolute perfect time and that using Pocono Downs’ new paddock provides us with the perfect place to start this new venture,” explains Sam Beegle. “Never before has there been a more positive opportunity than the present day PA horse arena. It seems extremely prudent to take full advantage for both buyers and sellers.”

“We have already gathered yearlings from some of the most respected breeders in PA as well as the rest of the US,” exclaimed Earl Beal. “For our first sale, we could not have asked for better people to come forward with yearlings of such quality. They, too, see the opportunity that lies in front of us all. Everyone wants to be part of success. This will be a great event for both sellers and buyers.”

With a combined 100-plus years of sales experience, there is little doubt that this team can and will get it done. They are all successful in their own right. They all know Standardbred horses.
