Horse Lovers United will hold stallion breeding fund raiser

from Horse Lovers United

Salisbury, MD — Horse Lovers United, Inc. (HLU) is venturing into a new fund raiser; new for them anyway.

A stallion breeding auction to raise much needed funds will take place at Frank Chick’s Harness Horse Sale on Tuesday, March 17. The location of this live auction is the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington, Delaware. The equipment sale begins at 10:00 a.m. with the horses walking into the auction ring at 12:00 noon.

Heading this effort is HLU volunteer Heather Moffett, host and producer of the popular local harness racing television show “Post Time.”

“We believe that every horse, whether they were a superstar on the track or not, deserves to have a loving home after their racing days are over,” said Moffett. “We work at matching horses with forever families, but there are always more horses needing homes. Horse Lovers United provides full care for these horses while searching for permanent homes. It is very costly, but the horses are worth it.”

Moffett has secured donations of breedings for ten well-known stallions. From Delaware there are eight breedings including Art Director, donated by Jerry and Jan Kovach; Cams Fortune, donated by Ricky Pryor and Chuck Crissman; Don Boss Vita, donated by Alvin Beiler; Funny Bones, donated by Charles and Diane Coursey; Headmaster, donated by Frank Deliberti; No Spin Zone, donated by Leigh Louthan; Northern Creek, donated by Jo Anne Myer; and So Striking, donated by Bobby and Diane Reeser. From Maryland, Winbak Farm has donated a breeding from JK Outlaw and from Kentucky, there will be an auction for a breeding to Southwind Lynx from George Teague, Jr. and Kevin and Ron Fry.

Frank Chick has been kind enough to generously donate the venue and the services of his auction, making it possible for 100 percent of the winning bid to go directly to Horse Lovers United.

Please contact Heather Moffett at (302) 242-7024 or Lorraine Truitt at (410) 749-3599 for more information on the sale and a complete pedigree on each stallion.
