Kentuckiana announces reduction in 2009 stud fees

from Kentuckiana Farms

Lexington, KY — In light of the current economic situation, Kentuckiana Farms has announced a substantial reduction in stallion service fees for 2009 along with a breeders’ loyalty program designed to assist breeders that want to breed to Kentuckiana stallions.

“We have spoken with many of our loyal breeders about the need for help with 2009 stallion service fees,” commented Bob Brady of Kentuckiana Farms. “Based upon the difficult economic conditions we are working under, we have made the decision to provide assistance where possible. We are hopeful that this will create the necessary stimulus needed by breeders during this economic crisis.”

Specifically, stud fees will be adjusted as set forth below:

  • Classic Photo (new to PA for 2009) — previously reduced to $5,000 from $6,000
  • Santanna Blue Chip (new to ON for 2009) — $4,000, reduced from $6,000
  • Lis Mara — breeder loyalty program
  • Allamerican Ingot — $2,000, reduced from $3,000
  • Ken Warkentin — breeder loyalty program

The Santanna Blue Chip Syndication, new for 2009, has been modified to reflect this reduced stud fee. Details will be provided upon request.

“In light of the economic crisis facing breeders today, the owners of Santanna Blue Chip have made the decision to meet the needs of breeders in securing value during this difficult time,” added Brady. “At $4,000, we believe that Santanna Blue Chip offers exceptional value to the Ontario breeding program. As the richest and first son of the great Art Major to go to stud, breeders can’t go wrong with this striking son of Art Major.”

In addition to the above reduction in stud fees, Kentuckiana has been working with breeders on mare loyalty programs and multiple stallion breeding packages. Contact Bob Brady or Ken Jackson for further information.

“We are extremely grateful to our loyal customers,” said Brady. “We trust that these changes will assist them with their breeding decisions during this difficult time. We want to thank everyone in advance for their continued support.”
