‘Delight’ is at home at The Meadowlands

Freehold, NJ — Trainer Linda Toscano hopes Share The Delight feels at home racing at the Meadowlands the next couple of weeks in the Breeders Crown.
Share The Delight has won twice this year at the Big M, including an elimination race for the Meadowlands Pace. He was third in the final, behind Somebeachsomewhere and Art Official.
“There’s never been any question about how fast a horse he is,” Toscano said. “He’s a very, very fast horse. But he has issues. It seems when we get away from home he doesn’t handle the stress real well. He’s back in his routine and, hopefully, he’ll be OK. I think he likes the Meadowlands. He’s done well at the Meadowlands.”
Share The Delight went off stride in two of his last three races and also in his elim for the North America Cup in June. On November 14, he prepped for the Breeders Crown with a 1:51.1 win in a qualifier at Gaitway Farms. The track was labeled as ‘good.’
“With his speed and the qualifier he put in on an off track, I guess we should give the Breeders Crown a shot,” Toscano said. “He’s always trying. If anything, he’s trying to go from zero to 60 too quickly, and that’s when he implodes. I think he’s going to grow into it and next year he’ll be a better horse. He could be in a different league if he behaves himself and puts it together.”
For his career, Share The Delight has won eight of 23 races and earned $351,862. He is owned by The Four Horsemen Stable and Algonquin Farms. He will be driven by Yannick Gingras in his Breeders Crown elim on Saturday.
Here is the field for Saturday’s elim in post position order (with listed driver/trainer). The top eight advance to the final: 1. Blue Claw (M. Lachance/M. Ford); 2. Mystery Chase (G. Brennan/D. Russell); 3. Lisfinny (J. Campbell/R. McIntosh); 4. Share The Delight (Y. Gingras/L. Toscano); 5. Rudy Rednose (B. Sears/G. Teague Jr.); 6. Shadow Play (D. Miller/I. Moore); 7. Upfront Hannahsboy (T. Tetrick/J. Arledge Jr.); 8. Blueridge Western (D. Palone/K. McDermott); 9. Bettor Sweet (C. Manzi/J. Poliseno); 10. Riggins (R. Schnittker/R. Schnittker).
