SBOANJ offers health screenings at training centers

Manalapan, NJ — The next stop on the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey’s fall health screening program will be Gaitway Farm in Englishtown, N.J. on Monday, September 15, from 12:00 noon to 2:30 p.m.

The program, under the direction of Backstretch Community Assistance Program (BCAP) Executive Director Chris Samaha, PhD, and sponsored by the SBOANJ, is free to all New Jersey horsemen.

The results of the screenings are immediately available to each participant and follow up health counseling is provided. The testing is free and no appointment is required.

The 2008 screening dates, places, times and what tests will be offered:

Monday, Sept. 15-Gaitway Farms-12:00 to 2:30 p.m.-cholesterol, glucose, body fat index, blood pressure
Monday, Sept. 22-Winner’s International-12:00 to 2:00 p.m.-cholesterol, body fat index, blood pressure
Monday, Sept. 29-White Birch-12:00 to 2:30 p.m.-cholesterol, glucose, vision, blood pressure
Monday, Oct. 6-Crystal Brook-12:00 to 2:00 p.m.-cholesterol, glucose, body fat index, blood pressure
Monday, Oct. 20-Magical Acres-12:00 to 2:00 p.m.-cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure
Thursday, Oct. 30-Freehold Paddock-12:00 to 2:30 p.m.-cholesterol, body fat index, blood pressure
Tuesday, Dec. 9-Showplace Farms-12:00 to 2:30 p.m.-cholesterol, glucose, vision, body fat index, blood pressure
