Prix d’Amerique tour for English-speaking trotting fans

from Equi tours

Limhamn, Sweden — Equi tours, a Swedish travel agency specializing in trips to top destinations for horse lovers, is offering its first tour to the 2008 Prix d’Amerique in Paris aimed at English speaking clients.

The tour begins Thursday, January 24 and concludes on Monday, January 28, the day after the Prix d’Amerique at the Vincennes Racecourse outside Paris.

Included in the tour offerings is a sightseeing tour of Paris by night, two days of racing at Vincennes, a trip to the famed Grobois Training Center, social events, and much more.

“This trip has proven very popular with our Scandinavian clients,” says Marie Nyberg, owner of Equi tours. “We thought that many people from the United States, Canada, and Down Under would be interested in seeing the Prix d’Amerique and touring Paris, but needed someone to make all the arrangements for them. We’ve been offering tours to the Prix d’Amerique for several years and we know how to take care of all the details.”

The Equi tours package includes four nights accommodations in a choice of two hotels, but does not include airfare to Paris.

“It’s best if people use the airline of their choice,” says Nyberg. “Airfares in January are usually quite reasonable, and you can arrange your arrival and departure to suit your personal needs. Our tour includes the ground package. One of the highlights of the tour will be an International Trotting Cocktail Party where guests from North America can mingle with Scandinavians and discuss racing in their countries and talk about the upcoming Prix d’Amerique.

“Everyone there is bound by a love of trotting and it’s a chance to make new friends in other countries. Dean Hoffman, who is known for his articles and books about harness racing, will be a guide during our tour in Paris.”

In addition to the sightseeing bus tour of Paris at night, there are opportunities for people to explore Paris at their leisure.

The Equi tours Prix d’Amerique package starts at $1,185 for a three-star hotel based on double occupancy. Guests may also opt for a four-star hotel.
