Armbro Corbin overcame the eight hole to post a 1:57.2 win in the Open Trot.
The 5-year-old Striking Sahbra gelding left from the outside post, gained the lead and coasted to a one length win in 1:57.2. Driven by Brandon Givens, the Scott Gregoire-trained ‘Corbin’ set fractions of :28.3, :58.3, and 1:28 before a :29.2 final panel in which he held off Vicki Gram and Honolulu Hunk, who rounded out the trifecta.
It was his fifth win of the year as he became the first repeat winner of the event during the Harrington spring meet.
Meanwhile, Tim Tetrick is closing in on the $5 million mark in seasonal earnings, which would make him the youngest driver to reach such a milestone. With four wins on the Wednesday program, he currently has $4,982,990 in purses in 2007 and has already surpassed his total of $4.69 million from last year. Tetrick is harness racing’s current leading money winning driver and dash leader with 480 victories.
