Toronto, ON — With winter storm warnings in full effect for the Greater Toronto area, the Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) has preemptively cancelled its live program of Standardbred racing for Thursday, March 1.

In addition to the cancellation of the card, WEG has also scratched Mohawk’s qualifying session set for Friday, March 2.

The next qualifying session from Mohawk will take place on Monday March 5. WEG would also like to remind horsemen and women to enter horses for the March 5 qualifying session before 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 3.

The three second leg divisions of the General Brock Trotting Series, which were slated for the March 1 program, will be raced as drawn on March 8. The C$54,200 (estimated) final will now be raced on March 15.

Live Standardbred racing from Woodbine will return on Friday, March 2 with a first race post time of 7:40 p.m.
