Northfield, OH — After being dropped from first to third for leaving the course and interference last week, Atayboyart, in line to Andy Shetler, left no doubt in Saturday’s (Jan. 13) $10,000 Invitational at Northfield, going gate-to-wire over the sloppy surface to win in 1:53.4 over Goodnite Buddy and Western Empire.
The mile by the Karen Tkaczyk trainee was nearly two seconds faster than any other race.
Dorothy Miller and Jeff Miller Stables own Ataboyart, a son of Artsplace, out of Northfield Wall of Fame mare Le Mistral.
Shetler won three races on the night, also taking the Open with Perfect Door in 1:55.2. Aaron Merriman and Ray Fisher, Jr. also tripled.
