Gallo Blue Chip to Massachusetts Horse Expo

Gallo Blue Chip, the richest pacing horse of all time and 2000 Harness Horse of the Year, is planning to visit the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, Massachusetts where he will be a celebrity representative at Equine Affaire.

Known as the “nation’s premiere equine exposition and equestrian gathering,” Equine Affaire is held annually in California (February), Ohio (April) and Massachusetts (November). The four-day event, Nov. 9-12, features clinics, demonstrations, seminars, a breed pavilion, a youth pavilion, trade show, horse training and evening entertainment.

After Gallo Blue Chip’s debut as Standardbred ambassador at the Ohio Equine Affaire in April, Equine Affaire Inc. invited the $4.2 million winner to be one of four equines featured the Stone Horses Celebrity Horse Showcase. Gallo Blue Chip he will meet and greet thousands of visitors expected to attend. At 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, he will be available for personal photographs in the Presentation Ring of the Mallory Complex. The first 100 people to visit Gallo Blue Chip each day will receive a color photograph of the champion, courtesy of the USTA.

The gelding appears at Equine Affaire courtesy of trainer Mark Ford and owner Martin Scharf. Equine Affaire is open from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Daily tickets are $13 for adults and $8 for children. Children under 6 are free.
