Michael MacDonald hurt in spill at Rockingham

SALEM, NH — Michael MacDonald, one of the top drivers at Rockingham Park, was injured in a nasty spill in the ninth race at the track on Wednesday.
MacDonald, who has won 16 races so far this meet to put him in second place in the standings, was driving Nonnas Cam around the far turn when the accident occurred. MacDonald’s horse flipped over and he was thrown from the sulky. The horse was uninjured, but MacDonald was placed into an ambulance on a stretcher and taken to Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Ma. for evaluation.
MacDonald, 58, is a native of Quebec, Canada.
