Annie’s Secret trotted to victory in the third leg of Indiana Sires Stakes action Sunday at Hoosier Park.

Starting from post five in the 10-filly lineup, Annie’s Secret was being guided by Dan Shetler Jr. for the first time in her career. Shetler got her in gear early, sending her straight to the lead. However, Deputy DJ and Mike Hollenback beat the duo to the lead. Shetler had Annie’s Secret back out moving, securing the lead by the halfway point.

In the stretch, several horses attempted to overtake Annie’s Secret, but she trotted well to the wire. Lovely Challenge and Ricky Macomber Jr. had the fastest kick at the end to finish second. Perfect Bubbles and Don Eash closed in for third.

Annie’s Secret is owned and trained by Verlin Yoder of Columbia City, Ind. The victory was her second career win. She now has in excess of $14,000.
