Hamburg, NY — In Friday’s featured race at Buffalo Raceway, Daniel L Berdysz’s Kami’s Call, with Keith Kash Jr. in the bike, won for the fourth time this year over another very “sloppy” track in the good time of 2:01.4, considering the track conditions.

“I didn’t want to race him (Kami’s Call) right back after racing Monday night at Northfield Park,” said Kash Jr. “But that’s just the way it worked out”

After sitting fourth for three-quarters of the race, this seven–year-old Call Toll Free horse made a three-wide brush around the final turn heading into the stretch and passed all rivals with a final quarter mile of 30.2 to beat Industrial Strenth and reinsman Ken Holliday by ¾ of a length. Passing Point and Jim Morrill Jr. came in third.

The $4,250 share of the winning purse boosted Kami’s Call 2006 earnings to $29,290 and $246,782 lifetime. He paid $4.60 to win as the second choice in the betting.

Speed Pilot wins first leg of the Dave Vance Memorial!

After breaking stride at the start of the race, the five-year-old gelding Speed Pilot made a big brush as the field was heading to the half-mile station. Driver Ken Holliday then put Speed Pilot on the lead and he never looked back and minded his manners to win 2:02.1. The favorite in the race Movie Hall and Jim Morrill Jr. were one and one-half lengths back in second, while Armbro Bravo and Keith Kash Jr. finished third.

It was the second win of the season for Speed Pilot who is owned by Thomas F. Buckley & Francis J. Rapone. He paid $8.40 to win.

Recently claimed Babe’s Bro takes tenth race pace!

Jerry Nugent Jr. steered Robbin D. Hill’s Babe’s Bro to a three and three-quarters length victory in 1:59.3. Going off at odds of 12-1, the eight-year-old Cams Catch gelding paid $26.00 to win to his lucky backers.

“He raced super tonight,” said a jubilant Nugent Jr. “He passed them like they were standing still.”

It was the fifth win this year for Babe’s Bro, but the first win for the new connections. Marion Singleton trains him. Elite Soul Man and Keith Kash Jr. finished second while Sand Shuffle and driver Ron Beback Jr. came in the show spot. It was the best paying trifecta of the night as the 4-1-6 combination paid $2,562.50!
