Solid field set for Buddy Gilmour Pace

Seven of the better pacers on the grounds meet in Saturday’s seventh race the $6,000 Buddy Gilmour Open Pace at Batavia Downs Gaming.

The feature race is named after the Hall of Famer who will be on hand Saturday night to autograph pictures starting at 6:30pm.

Highlights of some of his great victories will be shown throughout the evening thanks to the Harness Racing Museum of Goshen.

The 2-1 morning line favorite is Sandra Compton’s Michael Scores. This 4-year-old son of Held for Ransom has won 11 times this season and has earned over $50,000. He sports a win mark this season of 1:54.3. Kevin Cummings will be back in the bike.

Razor sharp mare Rose Street Doll heads back to the Open Handicap ranks after easily handling Open Two pacers last time out. Owned by David Krol, “Doll” has visited the Winners Circle thirteen times this season. She has 2005 earnings of over $40,000 and has won this year in 1:56. Her favorite pilot, Jim Morrill Jr., will do the teaming.

Racing fans entering the track starting at 6:00 pm. will be given a chance to win a turkey as part of the Great Gobbler Giveaway promotion. Two winners will be drawn after races 1-10. Post Time for the first of 12 races is set for 7:35 pm.
