Six winners for Wally Hennessey at Pompano Park

Pompano Beach, Florida -September 3, 2005 – Harness driver Wally Hennessey was at his best at Pompano Park Saturday as the top reinsman drove six winners on the card, including two divisions of the Florida Sunshine Stakes.

The classic finish of the night came in the 5th race $5,893 second division of the Sunshine Stakes for three-year-old colts and gelding pacers as Florida Boy (Jay Sears) barely held off Dontpassdamustard (Bruce Ranger) to win by a scant nose in 1:56.3. Fish Bait (John Kakaley) was third. It was the third win in five starts this year for Florida Boy.

In the first Sunshine Stakes division for three-year-old pacers, Scootin Bayou and driver Daryl Bier had little trouble leading from start to finish by two lengths in 1:58.2. In For Glory (Tom Sells) was second with Bloomýs Beautylo (Steve Trites) third.

In the two-year-old colt pace divisions, Iýve Got The Power (Wally Hennessey) pulled away in deep stretch from Remaxx Man (Bruce Ranger) to win by two open lengths in 2:01.2. Scoot To Victory (Mickey McNichol) was third. It was the fourth win in five lifetime starts for Iýve Got The Power.

The 2nd race $5,713 second division for two-year-olds saw Lover Boy Le Ru (Wally Hennessey) quarter move to take the lead away from ICU General (Walter Ross, Jr.) and then hold the field at bay, pulling away at the finish to romp by seven and one-quarter lengths in 1:58.4. Ten Times Wanted (Robert Williams, Jr.) was second with ICU General third.

In the 3rd race third division Welcome Lover (Daryl Bier) led from start to finish and won by a half length in 2:01.1 over Tropic Motion (John Kakaley) and High Security (Jay Sears).
